Description

Mental health challenges can affect anyone, and knowing how to provide initial support can make a significant difference. This short course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to recognize early signs of mental health issues, respond effectively, and offer appropriate support. Participants will learn how to approach conversations with empathy, provide immediate assistance, and guide individuals toward professional help when needed. By the end of the course, participants will feel more confident in addressing mental health concerns in the workplace and beyond.

Objective
  • Understand the Basics of Mental Health First Aid – Learn the principles of mental health first aid and why early intervention is crucial.
  • Recognize Common Mental Health Issues – Identify signs and symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health conditions.
  • Develop Effective Communication Skills – Learn how to approach and support individuals experiencing mental distress with empathy and sensitivity.
  • Respond to Mental Health Crises – Gain knowledge on handling urgent situations such as panic attacks, suicidal thoughts, or emotional breakdowns.
  • Encourage Professional Help and Self-Care – Understand when and how to guide individuals toward professional support while promoting self-care practices.
